Warm-up
Warm-ups are an important part of injury prevention. When warming up before a game or event it is important to mimic movements specific to the event or sport. This ensures the correct muscles are warm and less likely to tear. A good warm up should consist of 10 minutes of continuous light exercise. Warm-ups are most important in sports that require speed such as soccer or football. Low intensity activities such as jogging or recreational cycling require minimal warm-up because the activity is much like a warm-up in itself.
Training
Insufficient training can lead to an athlete being unfit or ill prepared for a game. They may be more prone to injury as they are not match fit or ready for their event. On the contrary over training can cause injury to muscles specifically from over use. It can also leave you fatigued before your event or game which can have a bad effect on your performance.
Coach's responsibility
A coach has a huge role in the prevention of injury of players/athletes. They are responsible for leading or organising warm ups and stretches, making sure all players are wearing protective gear. Also they have to make sure players are getting enough breaks and aren't over training. There are five main areas that a coach has legal responsibility for his/her athletes.
Environment
A coach must make sure the playing areas are safe and appropriate to play on. The coach should check that the playing surfaces are even and there are no obstacles the players might injure themselves on. If the coach is coaching a younger team the coach should check that the kids are away from cars, open fires and alcohol.

Activities
A coach must ensure that the players are undertaking activities appropriate to their ability and skill level. The activities must be low risk and safe. This means that players are not going to injure themselves trying activities that aren't safe.

Equipment
Coaches must make sure that players use the correct protective equipment. They also must make sure that the equipment is in good condition and up to date so it is correctly doing what is designed to do.

Supervision
A coach must ensure they apply the appropriate supervision when required. In sports such as gymnastics, if an athlete is attempting a new skill they would require full supervision from a qualified coach to make sure they attempt it safely. A coach should above all look out for the safety of players/athletes.

Matching young athletes
By making sure athletes play with others their age, the risk of injury drops. Kids who play with kids their own age are more likely to learn the skills needed to play safely. They are also less likely to be injured by other players who are bigger than them if they are matched with kids their own age.

Strapping Tape
Taping is known as a form of injury prevention as it restricts movement in particular areas or tracks tendons and muscles. Taping can be done almost anywhere on the body and with the technological advancements tape has become even better and more affective. Kinesiology Tape is stretchy and waterproof which improves its effects.
